To address the limitations of traditional strengthening methods—such as extensive slot cutting and structural damage—Mankate developed a detachable aluminum-magnesium alloy anchorage system featuring friction-locking and arc-end design. This enables an ultra-thin (~5 mm) bonding interface between the anchorage and the concrete surface, eliminating the need for slot cutting. This innovation reduces adhesive consumption while optimizing load transfer paths and ensuring effective composite action between the CFRP plates and concrete.

The Pre-Tensioned CFRP Plate Prestressing System utilizes carbon fiber plates manufactured from Toray T800 fibers and high-performance resin, offering long-term resistance to moisture and thermal aging. With tensile strength exceeding that of steel by more than 10 times and weighing only about 20% as much, the system provides high strength, lightweight performance, and excellent corrosion resistance.

The corrugated-tooth anchorage system, combined with a wedge-and-arc transition design, automatically aligns the tensioning center, ensuring the CFRP plate remains aligned with the structural axis and preventing tearing caused by uneven stress distribution.

During project implementation, Mankate provided full-cycle support, including design, construction, and final inspection and acceptance. Following the on-site assessment, customized anchorage layouts and tensioning plans were developed. Centralized training and real-time technical guidance ensured standardized construction practices.

The prestressing system has been successfully applied to multiple rural bridge and roadbed reinforcement projects. Structural cracks were effectively controlled, load-bearing performance was significantly improved, and maintenance quality compliance rates were substantially increased.
